An Interview With Dr. Shah, A Qualified Plastic Surgeon In Columbus

What is liposuction?

Do you have certain areas on your belly, back, legs, or arms that you have worked on for years? And they just don't seem to get smaller! Are you frustrated from working out and not loosing weight in those areas. Well Dr. K. Roxanne Grawe has a solution for you - Liposuction! At the Columbus Institute of Plastic Surgery, we perform liposuction for women and men every day... we have helped hundreds of patient to achieve their dream body with liposuction. Liposuction involves making you sleepy and injecting a numbing medicine into the areas you are liposuctioning. Then Dr. Grawe will suction out the fat in that area and end by placing a compression dressing over the area. This fat will never return! It is a great way to get the shape you have always wanted!

Are the results of liposuction permanent?

When Dr. K. Roxanne Grawe performs liposuction to an area - the results are permanent! That means the fat can never grow back in that area. The fat cells are permanently removed so no fat can be stored there anymore. Visit www.instituteplasticsurgery.com for more information.

What are the risks associated with liposuction surgery?

Like every surgery, there is a risk of bleeding and infection but these risks are extremely low in liposuction. The most common risk is that an area would be firm or uneven. This can usually be cured with time and massage but sometimes another very small operation is needed and it can be easily corrected.

Can exercise get rid of specific areas of fat without liposuction?

Excercise and eating right can get rid of fat in your body, but the fat cells are still there so if you gain weight, those areas will get bigger again. Also, it is common to have areas of your body that do not shrink with excercise - the so called "problem areas." Dr. Grawe at the Columbus Institute of Plastic Surgery believes that these areas are best treated with liposuction.
